Pool filters

Pool filters, pool pumps, and chemicals are used to control the growth of bacteria in pools. The size of the filter needed depends upon the size of the pool. Speak to a salesman or perform research on the Internet to determine how much money to spend on a pool filter.

Different kind of pool filters are on the market. Some retailers recommend a sand filter. A sand filter traps tiny particles. As it collects dirt it actually becomes more efficient and traps even more dirt.

Eventually all pool filters become less efficient and need to be replaced. A common rule is that a sand bed in a sand filter should be replaced after seven years. Pool owners who notice they have to perform frequent backwashing should change the sand bed in their filter.
